Product Description

Looking to get max performance from your power meter on a TT bike or road bike with clip-on aerobars?

Or, do you ride often in the rain and want your iBike to function flawlessly even when it’s pouring?

The Newton Remote Wind Sensor is the answer.

The Newton RWS allows the air intake of the Newton to be placed anywhere on the bike’s handlebars, out of the way of aero bars and TT water bottles. The RWS gives your Newton a clear access to the wind, allowing your Newton to get top-notch performance on any TT bike.  Additionally, it isolates the Newton’s wind port from the effects of rain.

The  Newton Remote Wind Sensor includes:
1) Wind port connector
2) 24″ of flexible tubing
3) Zip ties
4) Remote Air Intake Port
5) Installation and Usage Instructions

NOTE: This product does not work with the iBike Dash + Power.

a bit to short in my eyes (maybe not possible to make it longer because of technical reasons) because if you have a bottle between you handlebars you have to search for a good place for the RWS

The tube was too short and it was much to expensive for a few plastic parts.

Because my bicycle has a dual headlamp mounted in front of the handlebars there are no clean air locations on the handlebars or stem. The hose length was longer than I needed to get the RWS in front of the headlamps, and fits perfectly between the lamps.

Even though I lost the thing on my first ride (not I Bikes fault- I just had an unusual mounting situation-see below) the device eliminated interference from the turbulence coming off my bike lights (triple Lupine Betty Pro’s) and thus gave much more accurate and stable readings. If you have a I Bike with wind sensor mounted within 2″ or so from a light or other impediment to air flow you should use one of these. The turbulence coming off nearby gadgets will skew wind readings. Tip: if you need to get the wind pick up straight out in front of a light or something that’s even with or in front of the IBike- sensor port then go to Home Depot and get a roll of 1/4″ semi white poly tubing in the plumbing dept and cut to length. ($3.00) This will work as long as you keep the run short- less than 4″ or so. But the pipe must be the more stiff type. Floppy vinyl pipe will not work because it will bounce around too much. As a precaution- wrap a couple winds of electrical tape around where the pipe goes into the IBike, and make sure the adapter is firmly seated into the IBike. In this set up- theres no other support for the sensor tube- so make it RIGHT! Learn from my $80.00 mistake!!!!!

If you frequently ride in the rain, or use a TT bike, this product is for you. It’s easy to install and works very well

The plastic but that pushes into the ibike is very fragile. Mine was damaged after a few normal uses. I sent a letter to tech support requesting a few replacement pieces and didn’t receive a reply. Good idea, average implementation.
